File Types Window

The “File Types” window can be opened from ezNZB’s “File” menu.

While NZB files contain a list of files, they don’t contain a list of filenames. Rather, they contain newsgroup post subjects, which are like the subject of an email. Somewhere within that subject is the filename, and the way that ezNZB finds it is by scanning for file extensions.

So, the purpose of the “File Types” window is to provide ezNZB with a list of file extensions to look for in your NZB files. The program comes with a list built-in, however new file types are always being invented, so from time-to-time you may need to add one here. But don’t worry; it is very easy to do.

If, while parsing an NZB file, the program comes across a strange file type, it will give you a message asking you to add it. Then, all that you need to do is click the “Make New Type” button, enter a name, the extension, and click the “Save” button. The new extension will be added to the list at the left, and you can then go back to the “Step 4” screen and import the NZB file again.
