WatchFastTFast File Sorting and SlideshowsScreenshotIn the screenshot below, you can see WatchFast (which looks identical on the Mac) running with two Player windows. You can have as many Players as you want. Each Player can have a number of "preset" buttons at the bottom of the window. Each preset represents a folder on your computer or network. Click the preset and the files in that folder load into the list at the left. You can move files around by simply dragging them to a different preset. Each Player can play a slide show, so you can fill your screen with several slideshows at once.
When sorting a batch of new files, you can press the "F" key for each file you don't want to keep. That flags the file and turns the filename red in the list. Later, you can move them all into the trash. The files you keep can then be sorted into the correct folders by dragging-and-dropping them onto the appropriate preset buttons. Using WatchFast in conjunction with NewzScape is the only way to keep up with the high volume of files being posted to picture newsgroups today. In the old days, you could mosey along with Outlook Express, looking at one picture at a time. Not any more. Today, specialized tools are needed to make sure you can handle all of the files without dedicating your life to the project. |
