The UnPoster - The Non-Stop Binary Newsgroup DownloaderFile TypesThis option is located at: Setup Menu -> File Types Newsgroup headers have no designated spot to put the name of a file. When somebody posts a file, the filename is usually put into the subject, and then the unPoster must read the subject and try to figure out what part of it is the filename. The way it does this is to look for known file extensions, such as .rar. Once it finds an extension, it looks to the left and tries to figure out the filename. The purpose of the File Types window is to tell the unPoster what to look for. For example, if you are only interested in JPEG's, you can remove all the other file types, and then you will only see JPEG's on the Lister. Or if you don't use SFV files, you can remove SFV. The unPoster comes with the major file types built in. However, if you frequent a newsgroup where less-common file types are used, you will probably want to add them. |
