PixPlayer2000 Slide-Show Player
Online Manual
PixPlayer2000's role is twofold. First, PixPlayer2000 allows you to enjoy images and videos of your favorite models with its slide show feature. No other software can seamlessly play both images and video clips like PixPlayer2000 can. Second, PixPlayer2000 allows you to very rapidly review new images and videos that you download from the Internet. If you use bulk downloading software like our PixPlayer2000 product, PixPlayer2000 is the fastest way to review all of those images, easily saving the ones you like, and throwing away the ones you don't. PixPlayer2000's elegantly designed interface allows you to access all of this power within no more than a minute or two of running it for the first time.

Alt-N = Next image
Alt-P = Previouos image
Alt-M = Move image
Alt-D = Delete image
Alt-Z = Zoom in on image
Alt-X = Zoom out
1) File List - On the left side of the screen, you will see
a list of files in the directory that you have specified with
one of the buttons at the bottom of the screen. Files are listed
in alphabetical order, and played in alphabetical order during
a slide show. Click once on a file to view it. Use the up and
down arrow keys to view file after file with the keyboard. If
you right-click on the File List, you will get a pop-up menu
where you can move, copy, and rename the selected file, open
another folder, or retrieve headers from the PixNewsPro database.
To use this command, you will need to have PixNewsPro installed.
2) File Count - Below the File List, the number of files in
that directory is displayed. In addition to using the 'Move'
button, you can move the selected files in the list by dragging
the count text to a button at the bottom of the screen.
3) Play Button - When the play button is clicked, the slide
show begins, and the controls are automatically hidden. To make
the controls visible again, just click anywhere on the window.
While the slide show is playing, the 'Play' button becomes the
'Stop' button. Clicking the 'Stop' button stops the slide show.
You can also stop the slide show while it is running full-screen
by pressing any key.
4) Speed Button - Click this button to open a window where
you can set the speed of the slide show. Settings can be for
hours, minutes, or seconds. While the slide show is playing,
the number-of-files text below the files list becomes a countdown
timer showing the amount of time left until the next image is
displayed. If you have videos mixed in with your image files,
the video will play all the way through, regardless of the speed
control. So for example, if you have the speed control set to
display a new image every 5 seconds, and you have a 30-second
video in the directory, you will see all 30 seconds of the video;
it will not be cut off after 5 seconds. After the video, the
slide show will continue, showing a new image every 5 seconds.
You can change the speed while the slide show is running.
5) Delete Button - Clicking the 'Delete' button will cause
the currently selected file(s) to be deleted. You can use the
options on the Option->Settings window to tell PixPlayer2000
to move deleted files to the Recycle Bin, or to just blow them
away. It takes longer to move files to the Recycle Bin, however
you won't notice much of a difference when only deleting one
file. If, however, you delete 25 files at once, you will see
a major difference in speed. You can also activate this function
by pressing the Backspace key.
6) Move Button - Clicking the 'Move' button will move the
selected file(s) to the folder associated with the button with
the red dot. So, if you are watching a slide show, and you see
an image that you are tired of looking at, you can click the
'Move' button and send it to another folder. Or if you are reviewing
newly downloaded files, and you see an image that you like, click
the 'Move' button to send it to a folder where you save files.
Assign the red dot to a button by right-clicking on it and selecting
the command from the pop-up menu.
7) Zoom In Button - Click the 'Zoom In' button to make the
image larger, or press ALT+Z. This does not work on movies.
8) Zoom Out Button - Click the 'Zoom Out' button to make the
image smaller, or press ALT+X. This does not work on movies.
9) Exit Button - Click this button to shut down PixPlayer2000.
10) Button Bar - This is the row of buttons at the bottom
of the screen. Each button can represent a folder on your computer.
When you click a button, PixPlayer2000 will load all the files
in the associated folder. When you click the 'Move' button, files
will be moved to the button with the red dot. You assign the
red dot to a button by right-clicking on the button and choosing
'Set as Move Directory' from the pop-up menu. You can move images/movies
by dragging them onto a button. You set the name and folder of
a button by choosing the 'Modify...' command from the pop-up
menu. If the 20 buttons are too wide to fit on your screen, you
can have them wrap around with additional rows of buttons by
choosing the 'Wrap Around When Buttons Are Wide' command from
the pop up menu. The width of the buttons is determined by the
length of the longest button name you have assigned. To keep
your button bar from taking up too much space, keep all of your
button names short.
11) Image Area - This is where images and videos are displayed.
Click the maximize button to see as much of your images as you
can fit in your screen. If images are too large to fit, PixPlayer2000
will display scroll bars. Or you can go to the 'Options' menu
and use the 'Fit Large Image In Screen' command. This command
causes PixPlayer2000 to scale down images so that they will fit
in the screen. With most images, you will only notice slight
distortion. You can also toggle this setting by right-clicking
on the image.
12) Video Area - Video clips are shown with Microsoft's ActiveMovie,
which is part of Windows. Be sure to right click on a video clip
to see all of the ActiveMovie options. Videos will appear in
the same place that images do.
13) File Menu - 'Open Folder' Command - You can open a folder
of images/movies by using this command.
14) File Menu - 'Show Images' and 'Show Movies' Command -
These commands simply determine what files will be displayed
in the File List. If, for example, you have a directory with
different types of files in it, and you only want to see the
video files, then uncheck 'Show Images' and PixPlayer2000 will
only list the video files in the directory. If ActiveMovie is
not installed on your system, you will not have these two commands.
15) File Menu - 'Next Picture' Command - You can use Ctrl-N
to have PixPlayer2000 display the next image in the File List.
When PixPlayer2000 gets to the bottom of the list, the next Ctrl-N
will move to the top of the list. You can also use ALT-N.
16) File Menu - 'Previous Picture' Command - You can use Ctrl-P
to have PixPlayer2000 display the previous image in the File
List. When using 'Previous Picture' and you get to the top of
the list, PixPlayer2000 will move to the bottom of the list.
You can also use ALT-P.
17) File Menu - 'Use Picture for Wallpaper' Command - This
command will make the current picture your wallpaper on the desktop.
Movies, and some file formats can not be made into wallpaper
18) File Menu - 'Clear Wallpaper' Command - This command sets
the wallpaper back to a plain color.
19) File Menu - 'Wallpaper Slide Show' Command - This command
will cause your wallpaper to change during a slide show. You
can start the slide show, minimize PixPlayer2000, and then watch
the images play on your desktop.
20) File Menu - 'Refresh File List' Command - This causes
PixPlayer2000 to reload the list of files in the File List. It
is useful if you have PixPlayer2000 running and then add or remove
more files to the current directory.
21) File Menu - 'Exit' Command - This command shuts down PixPlayer2000.
22) Options Menu - 'Hide Controls' Command - This command
will hide the title bar, menu bar, and all the buttons, etc.
on the window so that you can devote all of your screen space
to the image/movie you are looking at. Click anywhere to unhide
all controls.
23) Options Menu - 'Fit Large Images In Screen' Command -
This command, when checked, will cause PixPlayer2000 to scale
down images so that they will fit in the screen. Otherwise, large
images are displayed with scroll bars. Scaling images will cause
some minor distortion. You can toggle this command by right-clicking
on the image being displayed.
24) Options Menu - 'Shift Lock' Command - This command will
toggle the shift lock setting for the file list. When it is on,
using the up and down arrow keys will keep selecting files as
if you were holding the shift key down.
25) Options Menu - 'Load Subfolders' Command - When this command
is on, PixPlayer2000 will load all of the images in a folder,
and all of the images in all of that folder's subfolders. If
you open your C drive with this command on, PixPlayer2000 will
list all of the image and movie files on the enter disk.
26) Options Menu - 'Settings' Command - This command will
open the Settings window. See below.
27) Register Menu - 'Register Now' Command - This command
