Question: PixNewsLite gets stuck while downloading. What do I do?

Answer: Press the Stop button and then add 1 to the number in the box to the right of the newsgroup name. That tells PixNewsLite to skip the post. It is impossible to predict what kind of crazy things spammers will post, and at times, these badly formatted posts can cause PixNewsLite to get stuck. It may also be that your news server is just having a problem and is not sending the post. If that is the case, complain to your ISP, and then try again later.

Question: How do I report a problem that is not addressed on this page?

Answer: Check above to make sure that you are running the latest version of PixNewsLite. If you aren't, try the current version and hopefully it will fix your problem. Also, many problems can be fixed by simply re-installing the program. As a last resort, send us a "debug file" by doing this:

  1. Start up PixNewsLite
  2. Click the Stuff button
  3. Select "Debug Mode" so that it has a check mark next to it
  4. Click the Scan button
  5. Let PixNewsLite run until the problem occurs
  6. Exit out of PixNewsLite
  7. Go to the directory where you installed PixNewsLite (usually C:\Program Files\PixNewsLite)
  8. The debug file will be named: PixNewsLite-debug.txt
  9. Open the file
  10. Paste into to an email and send it to the address at the bottom of the support page. If the file is very large, remove some of the middle part. Make sure to leave the beginning and the end where the problem occurs.
  11. Go back and turn off the Debug Mode option

The debug file makes a log of everything PixNewsLite does so that it can be analyzed.
